New UNIDO Interactive Publication About Reaching Sustainable Development Goals Through the Montreal Protocol

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) presented an interactive publication, Montreal Protocol and Beyond, with 17 stories showing how the implementation of the Montreal Protocol improves people’s lives.

Each story is dedicated to one of 17 sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development approved by world leaders at the United Nations summit in September 2015.

One of the chapters describes the reduction of inequality within and among countries in the context of BelVTI, a Belarus company and one of the key partners of the GEF-UNIDO project on coordinated management of ODS and POP in Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.

The company engaged in recycling and disposal of end-of-life refrigerators and freezers employs 12 people with disabilities.

“We, at BelVTI, do not hold prejudice to employees with disabilities or separate them from full-fledged ones. Everyone works for a common result,” the publication quotes Aleksander Kirpichnik, the company’s director.
