Waste management will be discussed at ECOLOGY EXPO 2021 in Minsk

On June 3–5, 2021, the major Belorussian exhibition dedicated to environment protection, ECOLOGY EXPO 2021 Exhibition and Forum, will be held at Minsk BelExpo exhibition center.

The exhibition and business agenda will offer visitors and participants the 16th Republican ecological forum, plenary sessions, round tables, business meetings, and the final of Belarus Green Awards 2021.

The international practices of managing and decontaminating hazardous wastes will be discussed at Improvement of the Waste Management System round table on June 4.

The A. Korbut, deputy minister of natural resources and environment protection of the Republic of Belarus, and Yu. Sorokin, representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, will open the round table.

Its agenda features presentations of the Russian and European best practices for the organization of efficient waste management mechanisms, decontaminating solutions for hazardous wastes, including PCB-containing ones, and Belorussian experience in the organization of a collection and recycling system for electrical and electronic wastes.

Other issues to be spoken about at the round table are the organization of the separate waste collection, collection and recycling technologies for household and electronic wastes, etc.

On the same day, a plenary session on new approaches to forming environmental policy in terms of green development will be held to discuss adaptation to climate change, carbon market research, development of a green economy (circular economy).
