International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum opens with urgent call for integrated action across energy, industry, climate and security
The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) opened today at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna under the guiding motto “Powering Prosperity, Security and Stability”. Over the next two days, the IVECF will bring together leaders from governments, international organizations, the private sector, financial institutions, research communities and civil society to accelerate action for equitable, climate-resilient development.
The Forum is organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) together with the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria, the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA).
The Forum became the central event of Solutions Week 2026 – a series of events marking UNIDO’s 60th anniversary and dedicated to accelerating the transition to green industry, clean energy and the fight against climate change.
