Disposal of Used Equipment Containing ODS and POPs
An article on the experience of the Republic of Belarus in the field of disposal of used equipment containing ODS and POPs under the GEF-UNIDO Regional Demonstration Project has been added to the ‘Success Stories’ section.
One of the partners in the project in the Republic of Belarus is the open joint-stock company “BelVTI”.
As part of the project, equipment for the collection and processing of hazardous waste was purchased. This has enabled the company to expand its specialised fleet for the collection and transportation of waste electrical and electronic equipment, including refrigeration equipment and air conditioners, as well as to enhance its capabilities for identifying and extracting refrigerants and for the refurbishment of refrigeration equipment.
