On September 29, 2021, a meeting of the Technical Evaluation Group (TEG) of the Ukrainian part of the project for coordinated management of ODS and POPs disposal was held
The hybrid meeting, offline in the Cherkasy City Council and online in Zoom, was dedicated to the review of the project “Terms of reference for procurement, installation and supply (turnkey) for national disposal equipment ODS/POPs/PCBs, Ukraine.” The center will be established at LLC “Ukravit Science Park” (LLC “Factory of Agrochemicals,” Cherkasy region, Cherkasy).
The TEG meeting was attended by representatives of UNIDO, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine (Project Beneficiary), LLC “Ukravit Science Park” (Project Recipient/Partner), central and local authorities, community councils under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources and the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine, NGOs, research institutes and independent international and Ukrainian experts.
The meeting attendees were offered goals and expected results of modernization of revamping productive facilities of the Partner’s enterprise.
The supply of advanced equipment that meets environmental and public safety will bring numerous social, economic, and environmental benefits to the society and city, such as providing employment, paying taxes and social charges, adopting CSR programs.
The international experts presented successful European practices and success stories of similar projects.
The national experts and TEG members discussed different solutions and their expected environmental impact, and the proposed ToR.
The meeting decided to approve “Terms of reference for procurement, installation and supply (turnkey) for national disposal equipment ODS/POPs/PCBs, Ukraine” with amendments proposed by the Technical Evaluation Group.
